Robert Neugebauer Named Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics

The Longwood School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Neugebauer as the new Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics.
“Mr. Neugebauer’s experience as an educator, coach, and administrator, along with his passion for athletics, will serve him well in this role,” said Lance Lohman, Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools. “His experience, passion, and character, along with the positive relationships he has, and continues to, develop with our students, coaches, and families, will certainly serve as the foundation for the future of our athletic program as we continue to excel and create new opportunities for our student-athletes.”
Most recently, Mr. Neugebauer has served as the assistant principal of the Longwood Junior High School. He has held that position since 2014, supervising multiple departments and serving as an administrative and instructional leader for students in grades seven and eight. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Neugebauer has shown outstanding leadership in efficient school operations to meet designated goals and objectives, as well as continuing to foster positive relationships with students, staff, faculty, and the community through coordination and implementation of building activities and events. Before Longwood, he spent seven years as the department chairperson for physical education, health, and athletics at Three Village School District.
“I am deeply honored to assume this pivotal role within the Longwood community,” remarked Mr. Neugebauer. “Together with our dedicated team of educators, coaches, and administrators, I am eager to uphold the rich tradition of excellence in athletics and to cultivate an environment where every student-athlete can thrive.”
Mr. Neugebauer earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Long Island University/CW Post, a Masters degree in Education from SUNY Stony Brook, and a Masters of Science from Touro College. He also holds advanced certificates in school building leadership and school district leadership from Touro College and Certifications in Physical Education K-12 and New York State Coaching from Long Island University/CW Post.
