Kimberly Longo Appointed Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Learning

The Longwood Central School District is proud to announce the appointment of Kimberly Longo as the new Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Learning, effective July 1, 2025.

With over two decades of dedicated service in education, Mrs. Longo brings a wealth of experience, including 20 years within the Longwood community. As Principal of Coram Elementary School, she launched transformative initiatives to enhance student learning while fostering a positive school culture. Under her leadership, instructional practices, student outcomes, and school-to-family partnerships are top priorities, ensuring that every student thrives in an inclusive learning environment

Mrs. Longo's career in Longwood began in 2004 as a teacher and literacy coach at Coram Elementary School. She was appointed as District Coordinator of Student Support Services in 2018 and Director of Curriculum for ELA, Math, and Science in 2021. Her tenure as principal further solidified her commitment to educational excellence and student achievement.

“Mrs. Longo is an exceptional leader who has a deep understanding of curriculum, instruction, and the diverse needs of our students across the district,” said Dr. Lohman, Superintendent of Schools. “Her longstanding commitment to Longwood, combined with her visionary leadership and passion for education, makes her the ideal choice to lead our instructional programs and practices, ensuring that all students are equipped to reach their full potential .”

Mrs. Longo holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from St. Joseph’s College, a master’s degree in Literacy from Touro College, and an advanced certificate in District and Building Leadership from Niagara University.

“I am honored to assume this new role and remain committed to collaborating with our students, faculty, and families to cultivate enriching learning experiences that empower the whole child,” expressed Mrs. Longo. “I cannot wait to continue our work in partnering with our exceptional educators and families in order to expand opportunities and further our shared educational mission.”
