Fourth-Grade Student-Engineers Research Sustainable Energy Resources
Post
Our fourth-graders are Super Powered! This year's LEGO Showcase challenged student engineers in all four elementary schools to work in teams to address the need for sustainable energy sources, storage systems, and efficiency.
To explore renewable and nonrenewable resources, students used Book Creator projects, blueprints, coding, and creative building to design unique, cost-effective energy storage methods and communities.
Students then created towns with specific components, including a carousel, wind turbine, and storage units to distribute energy, then personalized their communities with gardens, ATMs, hotels, malls, hospitals, fast food restaurants, and even a zip line!
As part of the showcase, K-3 students and parents enjoyed visiting the LEGO Showcase and learning about the innovative energy plans.
