Anthony Cavalluzzo Appointed as Principal of Coram Elementary School

The Longwood Central School District is proud to announce the appointment of Anthony Cavalluzzo as the new principal of Coram Elementary School, effective July 1, 2025. Mr. Cavalluzzo replaces Kimberly Longo, who was recently appointed Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Learning.

Mr. Cavalluzzo brings a strong background in instructional leadership, student advocacy, and community building, and is well-prepared to lead Coram Elementary into its next chapter of academic excellence and student growth.

“As a Longwood graduate myself, and a former Coram community member, I’m honored to join the Coram Elementary family and excited to continue to build upon our school’s strong foundation for success and student support,” said Mr. Cavalluzzo. “I look forward to joining the team and supporting the district’s mission of ensuring that every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.”

Mr. Cavalluzzo most recently served as assistant principal at Brookhaven Elementary School in the South Country Central School District from 2021 to 2025, where he played a key part in developing and implementing academic and behavioral intervention programs, leading building-wide attendance initiatives, and supporting safe and inclusive school environments. He also worked closely with teachers and grade-level teams to use data to inform instruction and enhance student outcomes.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education from The College of Saint Rose and a Master of Arts in Literacy & Cognition from St. Joseph’s College. He also holds multiple New York State certifications, including School Building Leader, Childhood Education, Early Childhood, and Literacy.

“As a proud Longwood graduate, we welcome Mr. Cavalluzzo back home to the Longwood family! He brings with him a strong and personal commitment to our school community, and with his proven track record as an educational leader, we are confident that he will continue to foster a nurturing environment where every student can learn and grow."
