New Assistant Principal Appointed at Charles E. Walters Elementary SchoolThe Longwood Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Eileen Wilson as the new assistant principal at Charles E. Walters (CEW) Elementary School, effective October 15, 2019.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the Longwood Central School District as the new assistant principal of Charles E. Walters Elementary School,” said Mrs. Wilson. “My goal is to continue to work alongside teachers, staff, and families to provide students with engaging and challenging learning opportunities.”

With 12 years of experience in education, Mrs. Wilson joins CEW from Coram Elementary School, where she served as a literacy coach since 2015. In that capacity, she provided instructional support in the classroom, implemented professional development to enhance curriculum and assessment, coordinated Amazon Coding for Kids, and implemented student leadership programs. Mrs. Wilson is a member of numerous district committees, including the Vision/Mission Committee, Curriculum Committee, and Parent Involvement Committee. She began her career at Longwood in 2008 as a kindergarten teacher at Coram Elementary School.

“We are excited to welcome Mrs. Wilson to our administrative team,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael R. Lonergan. “We know she will contribute to our ongoing goal of improving the educational curriculum for our students and that her past experiences will serve the CEW community well.”

Mrs. Wilson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Child Study and Speech from St. Joseph’s College and Masters in Literacy from Long Island University. She received her second Masters in Educational Leadership from Niagara University.
